Pandemic / Covid-19 Due to the nationwide pandemic we are currently going through, please be advised:
All staff/persons conducting business at Driving 101 have the option to wear a mask. When in the vehicle, the windows must be rolled down three or more inches. Staff will disinfect the vehicles and building between all drives and/or exams.
If you are feeling ill, please reschedule by 12:00 pm the business day prior. If canceling late due to illness, a Doctor's note is needed to avoid a charge.

- The Knowledge Exam consists of 40 multiple-choice questions about traffic safety laws; applicants must have passed the exam with at least 80% within the last 24 months before scheduling the Skills Exam.
- The Skills Exam will test the applicant’s ability to drive legally and safely. Applicants must pass the Skills Exam with a score of 80%.
- On the Skills Exam, there will be assumed, simulated, and real situations. Please practice and be prepared.
- If you are under 18 years of age, you must have completed Driver’s Education before scheduling your Skills Exam.
- Your exam scores will be entered into the DOL database within 24 hours. You must visit the DOL office or apply for your license on the DOL website. Passing the Knowledge and Skills Exam does not guarantee that an applicant will be issued a driver's license. The DOL will determine if an applicant has met all licensing requirements. If you are under the age of 18, you must be at least 16 years old, have successfully completed a traffic safety education course, have had your permit for at least six months, and have had 50 hours of driving practice with at least 10 night driving hours to apply for your driver license.
- We are required to report any cheating to the DOL. Cheating results in an immediate termination of the exam are reported on the DOL database, and all future exams will be conducted at the DOL.
- Do not practice on an exam route or follow an exam vehicle; this is considered cheating and will be reported on the DOL database. All future exams will be conducted at the DOL.
- The Department of Licensing reserves the right to conduct random re-examinations; applicants refusing to take a re-examination may have their license revoked.
- To report a grievance or complaint, it must be in writing to the supervisor on duty. admin@drvn101.com or 9113 NE 117th Ave #100 Vancouver, WA 98662.
- We reserve the right to refuse services to anyone.
- Due to safety requirements applicants are required to use the school's training vehicle.
- If you received a letter from the DOL to take an examination and/or have a physical, mental, visual, or any other medical issue, you must test at a DOL office. Failure to disclose this information prior to testing will result in your test not being honored at the DOL to obtain your license. We will not refund the exam fee.
- In the event of a car accident, if it is deemed the driver’s fault, the driver will be required to pay the $1000 auto insurance deductible. If you mark upon, scratch, or otherwise damage Driving 101 furnishings, testing materials/devices (i.e., tablets, exam sheets, vehicles, etc.), you will be charged to repair or replace them.
- You will need to demonstrate arm signals prior to beginning the Skills Exam.
- Pursuant to RCW 46.20.720, a driver convicted of an alcohol offense may be required to have an Ignition Interlock Device (IID) in order to drive. The applicant must take the Skills Exam in their own vehicle using the IID at a school that allows exams in personal vehicles.
- At the time of the exam, provide proof of identification that has a name, date of birth, and a photo such as; a photo permit, out-of-state license, Military ID, or passport. A school yearbook/school ID is acceptable if used with a non-photo permit. Failure to have proof of identification at the time of the exam or coming late is a forfeit of your money. - If Driving 101 staff find you to be exhibiting indicators or signs of impairment, for example, but not limited to slurred speech, swaying, clumsy movements, involuntary movements, teeth clenching, red eyes, extreme agitation, rapid rambling speech, dilated pupils or attention problems you will be asked to reschedule at your expense. Driving 101 will not tolerate discrimination or bullying due to sex, race, or religion, etc. You will be asked to leave if you exhibit such behavior.
